ACCESS POINTS

There are 4 possible car-parking points.

  1. National Trust Car Park on B6055 at SK268800

  2. Roadside on B6521 at SK259800
    (Better on weekdays)

  3. Grindleford Station Access Road off B6521 at SK250786
    (Better at weekends)

  4. Car Park on north side of A625 at SK 251801

DESCRIPTION OF THE SITE

An area of open moorland with mixed woodland and an upland stream (Burbage Brook) traversed by a number of established footpaths.

BEST TIMES TO VISIT

Can be productive at any time, but particularly good in spring and summer for migrants.

SPECIAL BIRDS - (at an appropriate time of year)

Cuckoo, Dipper, Greater Spotted Woodpecker, Green Woodpecker, Pied Flycatcher, Raven, Redstart, Tree Pipit, all three Wagtails, Wheatear, Wood Warbler and most woodland birds.
